Arlie Russell Hochschild—author of the groundbreaking exploration of emotional labor, focuses squarely on the impact of social forces on the emotional side of intimate life. She has written several other books, like “The Managed Heart” and “The Outsourced Self”, in the last few years and expanded her expertise even further.
